Zebra
I painted this zebra about 2 months ago and it’s had been hanging on the wall in this state…
I knew all along that I wanted to make it more interesting than just a zebra walking in water, but wasn’t sure exactly what direction to go with it. After a couple different exploratory sketches done sporadically [...]

Birth of The Museum Quantity
So yeah, basically the idea is to get together over at our studio and make collaborative drawings, photograph them and make the photos into pages of ‘zine. We came up with the name The Museum Quantity, invoking our motto: “This may not be the best stuff, but there sure is a helluva lot of it!”. [...]
Process
I decided to document the evolution of a recent painting. It is still in progress at the moment, but these photos will give some insight into my normal working process. Enjoy.

Studio Warming

Below is the painting as it is now.
here we have a [...]

I’m working out a new large scale piece on paper. I typically work on wood, but thought I’d try something new. I like the paper, mostly because I’ll be able to roll it up when I’m done. Storage is an issue, so I’ve been hesitant to do larger stuff lately. I think I’ll do more- [...]

Back in the studio…
After a bit of a hiatus, due to travel in Europe, I’m finally settled back in to San Francisco and ready to make some new work. It always takes a few consecutive days in the studio to build up a momentum, but it was nice to crack open the turpentine containers and get the [...]
